Green Tea – Seed of Nature
Green tea is the purest of all the tea varieties. Because it is non-fermented, it keeps the best natural taste of the tea leaf. During the drying process, the tea leaf loses some of its bitter and astringent taste whilst keeping its nutritious elements. Early in Chinese history, the Chinese people did not drink pure tea. They saw the tea leaf as a type of vegetable and used it for cooking with other foods. Later, they found the best way to drink tea is to dry the leaf and soak it in boiling water.

One day a local doctor from Anhui province sent the Imperial Palace a bag of dry chrysanthemum flowers. The flowers were steeped in boiling water and given to the empress to drink. Remarkably, after several days, the empress no longer suffered from the eye problem. From this discovery, these small yellow flowers from Anhui were called the “imperial chrysanthemum”.
